Texans vs. the Snow: Winter Brawl 2007

Here's Round 1:

I love & hate days like these. Mmmm.. snow softly falling as we cuddle up drinking cocoa & eating pie. Playing in the snow & making snowman.... on the other hand, we're trapped here all weekend (church has been cancelled) with no way out. Actually though the shovelling wasn't so bad, but its still novel right now, I'm sure it'll get old...

Wow! Good luck shoveling all that snow. It snowed here last night and is still snowing. We went out and played in it this morning but I agree, I don't like being stuck inside. Our church isn't canceled (so far) and it never was in Madison either. I remember one Sunday (the one you called and said that your church had been canceled as you Doug was heading down to the car) the snow was so bad but church still wasn't canceled! It took us a half hour to get to church because we were going so slow, we slid a bunch of times, and couldn't make it up the slanted main driveway. Oh man, I definitely do not miss Wisconsin winters. :)

Oh, by the way, Sariah looks super cute all bundled up for the snow!

I should've mentioned that its stake conference weekend, and they probably didn't want everyone driving in from far away... but yeah, I think our ward cancels church too easily!

Hey, Doug, you're shoveling snow! How many times has he done that before? Have you guys had many storms since you've been homeowners?

I wish we'd get some snow like that here--it's been too dry. Right now there's heavy snow falling on the mountains, western slope, and eastern plains, but Denver was sunny and in the 40s!

Doug actually said that this is his first time shoveling snow... he did a really good job! This is the first time we've had to shovel snow since moving into the house, but it did snow a little last spring and on Sariah's birthday!

We didn't get any snow from that storm, but we did get lots of rain and wind. I nearly fell down walking on campus yesterday on account of the wind. Hope you guys are doing okay. Good luck with your first winter in a house!

I'm amazed... what's that white stuff all on the ground?!?? The high was in the 70's here this past weekend! Stephen and I were talking about how ridiculous it was that we were in December, and still had weather we could run around in shorts & t-shirts in. Good luck with the winters there! Texas definitely doesn't prepare you for that!
