Uh Oh...
It may be a long year for the Utah Utes. They got beat 24-7 by Oregon St last night, and they lost their Quarterback and Running back to injuries. I'll have to as my brother how its going. (If you don't know, Justin is studing at the U in Sports Medicine and this year he's traveling with the team as a trainer.) Did the BYU hat jinx Utah? Who can really say... ;) I guess we'll just see how BYU does on Saturday.

Its that season again...
Its time to incorperate two of my favorite things... football and making hats! Coming this fall there's a good chance that Sariah and I will be attending a Univ. of Utah football game. So I got into the spirit of things and knitted her her own Utah hat to wear to show some team spirit! Go UTES!!! As a kid, when we lived in Utah, we had season tickets to the Ute games and I remember going from a very early age. I really enjoy football. I really get into it. Doug thinks I'm crazy. He also thinks I'm trying to brainwash Sariah that BYU is evil. This is not true. I'm just trying to show her when it comes to sport rivals, you gotta pick sides. But to prove I'm not trying to corrupt our kids, I made her this nifty BYU hat...
See, I'm playing fair. (Sort of.... *insert evil laugh here*) Anyways, here's both hats in a side by side comparison...
On a completely seperate note, but I'm too lazy to create a second blog entry... check out Sariah's first braid!

Sariah's 9 Month Stats
Height: 26.5 in (9th %)
Weight: 16 lbs. 8 oz. (12th %)
Our itty bitty, continues to be itty bitty! But she is growing and she's healthy, so everything is fine! Its actually good because we can still get lots of use out of our Infant carrier car seat, which will be easier to travel with in the coming months. She's so itty bitty cute!

My Favorite Room
Some of you have asked for pictures of our house. Well, I'm not exactly ready to show off many of the other rooms, but I'm really excited about this one, so let me share. This is our living room/study/library/music room. I'm probably most excited about this room because we just got the books up on the book shelves last night and now it feels more complete. And I love books. I could sit here and read all day long, all we're really missing is some sqishy furniture to curl up in while I read, but I think that's a long time coming. For now, I'm happy. I think I'll go read a book...

Follow the (Ward Mission) Leader
Today at Chruch, Doug was call, sustained and set apart as our Ward Mission Leader. Admittedly, this was not unexpected since we've been Ward Missionaries for over a year now and our former WML is moving out of our ward at the end of the month. Doug is excited, worried, nervous and prepared for his new calling. I'm still a ward Missionary, and we're the only two right now, but hopefully we'll get more called soon. I know he's going to do a wonderful job!

Its time...
...to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs! I left Sariah downstairs to grab my purse and shopping list and my phone rang, so I was talking to my mom. I keep hearing Sariah noises, and I peak down the stairs (we've got a split level house, so the stairs curve at the landing to the front door) and I don't see her, so I figure she's downstairs and okay. Moments later I'm greeted by Sariah! She climbed all the way up the stairs! Ackk!

Doug turns a Quarter of a Century!
"Hey Mommy.... what's going on?"
Doug turned 25 years old on Sunday. It was a really nice day. I let him sleep in and then he opened presents. After church we had a dinner of Noodles Romanoff, a childhood favorite of his. I also made a Triple Chocolate Ice Cream cake....
I'm very proud of this cake, its two layers of Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake with a middle layer of chocolate ice cream and topped w/ Triple Chocolate Fudge Chunk Frosting. Totally Healthy... *wink*. If you look closely you can see where I wrote "Happy Birthday Doug" in the frosting.
