a Sunbeam!

My how they grow up fast! Didn't our nephews just start sunbeams? What do you mean that was like 3 years ago? For the record, Sariah loved Sunbeams & Primary yesterday. I loved being able to watch her reactions during singing time. Her new teachers said she did great during class. I'm not really surprised though, she's been so excited all week about primary.

Also big news from yesterday... we're officially declaring Sariah potty trained. She received her second "potty prize" for finishing up her poop chart. Honestly, she probably could've received it sooner because after about 2 accidents, she hasn't had a problem at all doing the number 2. Most days she'd just use the potty & I never knew if she pooped or not. She's even staying dry at night, even though we're still using a diaper because I'm expecting some regression in the next couple of weeks with baby on the way.Our biggest potty challenge? "Foreign" potties. She doesn't like using a potty anywhere but at home, which tends to be okay as long as she goes potty before we leave and right after we get home, but at some point she's going to be in a situation where she has to use a foreign potty. The problem is partly our fault because we know that she has a fear of going down the drain, and the first non-home potty she used was at the library which has an automatic flush. It kind of freaked her out. So if anyone has any suggestions for calming her fears... :)

I'm immensely proud of how well she's been doing with all the changes happening around here. There's a maturity level to a 3 year old that's much better than even 6 months ago. We're also excited to start all over again real soon!

We must be living parallel lives because I was about to make the same sort of post about Joseph.

As for unknown potties, Elena was afraid of loud flushes so I would flush after she left the stall. Joseph wasn't afraid but still didn't like them, so I told him tough luck 'cause this was the only kind we had. For automatics, for both of them, I held my hand over the sensor. I've also heard of other moms that carry post-its or masking tape for those.

Sariah is getting to be such a big girl! I'm glad she loves sunbeams. Three is such a fun age. They usually are so happy and want to be helpful. Congrats on the potty success.

Go Sariah! I can't believe she is doing so well on the potty. Jack we definitely not fully potty trained before Grace came. You are so lucky! I hope she gets over her fear of non-home pottys, though. That will make outings tough!

As for "foreign potties" we have the opposite problem (in a way). Katherine believes that she needs to go to the bathroom EVERY Target visit, EVERY library visit, and EVERY Walmart visit, and I am the one who CAN'T stand going in there!!!

Yay for Sariah! Melissa loves the library toilet, but just because they have kids size one at our library, at the other restrooms she doesn't do as well either. We have a travel potty. You just use grocery or gallon size ziploc bags. It works really well. We got ours from amazon and it holds up to 70 lb.
