to cut or not to cut?

Sariah's hair is really long. I'm talking almost to her waist in the back. Not surprising since it has never been cut and she had a lot to start with. When its washed and done up, its so pretty & girly, and it has a slight natural curl at the bottom that is awesome! The down side is that Sariah hates having it washed, or brushed or anything done to it. It gets all tangly so easily, and she gets food in it. I'm dreading the Summer, since it'll have to be done up and then washed every time we go to the park.

So I'm thinking, maybe its time to cut it. We could do a cute bob or something and cut it so it stays out of her face & is less hasstle. (I'm all for less power struggles...) On the other hand, cutting my baby's hair? SOB!

What do ya'll think? There's a poll on the side, too...

I love Sariah's hair but I think you're right. I know that I get tired of my long hair in the summer. I don't know if I'd go all the way for a bob though. Maybe just a little shorter than shoulder length with some bangs?

Cut it! If you decide that you really do prefer it long, it will grow back in no time. But you might also decide that she looks even more beautiful with it short. And in my opinion, anytime I am not trying to fight with a two year old, they are always much cuter!

This is the same fight I have with Elena. Mind you, she's older, so I can just say "You! Come here, I'm putting your hair up," now, but it's still a fight. No More Tangles spray (we've got the Target version) helps a lot. It gets some serious snarls out of her hair. Personally, I would say to leave it long just because you CAN pull it back. Short hair still has the pudding-attraction problem.

I say cut it. Who wants a power struggle? But, take lots of pictures of it long first! :) It's about time to give Henry his first haircut and it is a little sad to cut off those baby curls, isn't it?

Cut it. It'll grow again and I read in "What to expect in the toddler years" that's exactly what you're supposed to do when you have a toddler who doesn't like her hair being washed/combed/etc. So, it's the best thing for her.

Don't cut it! Emma's hair was like that only a little bit curlier. I cut it when she was 3 and those beautiful curls went away. So sad. I fix both my girls hair while they are brushing their teeth or just playing in the water in the sink and LOTS of detangling spray.

Hmmm...that's a tough questions! Her hair is BEAUTIFUL. You would hate to see it all cut off! However, bobs are so adorable on little girls and it would eliminate so many power struggles!

I have never regretted NOT cutting my oldest daughters hair. We do trim it but it is soo beautiful long. I vote no!
